HOLY CRAP! I've heard this song before!!!! i was just writing this review and then an error message appeared! im 100% sure when i listened to this song the internet crashed cause of its awesomeness! love your style man! a whole lot different from everyone else, and it definitely shows in your intro in a good way. creative usage of the kick, a nice bass beat and a hat or something coming in every now and then at the most unexpected yet perfect locations for this song. nice effects throughout the song. good way to build the tension around 0:50 so you can bring in the melody and just blow away people's minds and you do it again 1:15 and transition into yet another awesome melody. im going to favorite you man. i thought the other Aspiration song sounded familiar and then i saw this one and i knew how they were similar.

Awesome, thanks!

Good work!

Very nicely done! Nice sound effects you used throughout the song. Smooth transitions by having the parts ending and then the drums and claps play for a few measures. The bass is real dark and has a good beat. Lots of instruments are in the background giving it a good ambient/dark feeling in the beginning. The instrument at 1:11 is a real good instrument. i've heard it in a lot of songs and it's pretty much impossible to tell what the notes are (in my opinion at least). The somewhat-solo around 1:40 gives you that sort of stand-still feeling where you see stuff in slow motion. nicely done at that part. the fade-in around 2:13 was a good way to change the tone of the song with the strings or pad coming in. definitely gets that solar shower feeling. the bass and lead that come in for a short while return to the ambient/dark feeling so it makes the part at 2:50 sound more light/solar like. Nice piano that comes in and out as an accompanient and soloist for a few short seconds. good solo at 3:33. if i had been making the song it wouldnt have seemed to fit, but it fits in quite well and almost sounds 8-bit-ish. the new melody at 3:50 creates a good feeling (harmony? not sure...) with the sustained notes that transition into those quick and short notes at 4:01. the same instrument from 1:11 comes back in at 5:00 or so and takes away the solar feeling. the melodies and patterns after 5:00 sound the same from before, though that's okay. The song goes in an ABA format. Good way to start the ending at 6:30 with the instruments coming back in and sort of glitching up.

overall a very good trance song. the effects you used for the instruments to fade in. Good kick and instruments too. Although a fair length at 6:40, i suppose this song could have been cut down a little on the length, though then it wouldnt give the trance feeling as much. the kick drum pattern is fine as it is, and it could have used some more variation at some parts. the drums dont take much of the glory in this song, merely playing side by side with the melody, bass, etc. i would have ended the song somewhere right before 5:00 when the piano is playing. Take out the instrument with the syncopated notes and that snare run at the end and have a few piano notes hang over and it would have sounded good. That's just an alternative ending you could have had though. In this song there was one thing that was REAL good though. Many portions of the song have good volume levels so you can hear all of the parts playing without any part sounding overpowered. Just a couple parts where the piano was playing was the piano very faint, though i prefer to blame the high notes of the piano. Good job on the volume levels.

Thanks for an ACTUAL review.

Woot!

Hah my awesome first song remixed! You guys don't know how glad i am to have someone actually remix this song! Like i said earlier, the bassline was a perfect way to kick it off after the melody faded out. The tempo also gives the song a new feel from the original. I love the speed of this remix, not to mention your amazing melody at 0:50! When everything returns at 1:39 it just blows you away with the sound. The Fruity Love Philter filter sweeps were the perfect way to end the song.

Thanks for making the remix!

Your welcome! I couldn't have done it with out you. XD

Nicely done!

The flute definitely gives this song a different feel! I think in the background there are some strings playing also? Well anyhow the way everything builds onto each other makes this song real unique. If i try building songs with new parts coming in after every few measures it usually doesnt turn out too well. That synth that kicks in around 1:48 gives an insane techno feeling without overdoing the song with some lightning fast solo. The gated instrument and the bass in the background really keep the song going. When that second solo comes in around 2:24 it doesnt seem to abrupt in the change of the music. Then at 2:54 the melody gives you a real relaxed feeling, i guess the feeling you were trying to recreate of Ebbing Waves. :) The solo at 3:12 really makes me feel like im prevailing over something, though i dont know what it is. Maybe it's just the synth shining over everything else xD. The flute returning at 3:36 and it's other melody at 3:50 give you another relaxed feeling, with the synths returning and complimenting the ending at 4:00.

Once again, you've made another masterpiece. :)

Shoot man!

Dang! i listened to your song Double Helix the other day and was predicting what this song was going to sound like. I was expecting the piano to start it off, but the gated instrument comes in like from underwater and THEN the piano kicks in... or it sounds like a piano... a little acoustic-ish.. idk whatever it is is a good instrument and a good melody! It really gets you relaxed, then some insane synth solo kicks in and blows you away, with a slower melody playing after that. The sound effect (i know what it is, i just forgot it's name lol) makes each transition done real well. The part where everything goes underwater-ish was real good, and then the synth kicked in with some other instrument to compliment it (1:44 - 3:00) That whole section was well done, yet it seemed just a little lengthy. No worries though, it sounded excellent nonetheless. At 3:49 where it gets a little more high pitched really added the touch the finish off the song. At first i was going to expect that the piano would continue repeating and then fade out, but the pitch change was nice. As the guy below me said, it reminds me of another artist on NG, cornandbeans (or is he thinking of another artist?) xD. (Sorry if i wasnt supposed to say/guess who the artist was)

Thanks for your review. I like it when people actually comment an this stuff. :D

Sweet

Heck of an awesome remix of Eurodancer man! The kicks are powerful and just right to give it a beast techno and dance feel. The gated part at 1:51 really kills man, i wouldn't have ever thought of that! Good tempo too, what's the bpm you used?
The bass is also real good, along with effects that bring back the gated instrument.

DjYeoh responds:

Thanks! well, that really is'nt a gated part at 1:51 its just massive reverb up and small notes in the middle, the tempo for this is 158 bmp.

Whoa... did i say "HOLY CRAP!?!" yet? xD

Dang man! 175 bpm? That must be a sweet tempo for this song to have come out so well! The piano fading in with the sound effect instantly told me, "Don't miss this song or else you'll be an idiot." The gated instrument and kicks really gave it a great techno feel. I LOVE how all those synths like have their own solos and everything! i tried that once and i epically failed! Dx. Good sound effects man! I haven't been able to find any good ones AT ALL! D; I'm not sure if you listen to cornandbean's music that has the { } around the titles, but you definitely sound like him! (That is a compliment! I don't know any other artists that could have pulled off something like this!)

You missed one point though (im only taking off one point since everything else was killer aweseome!). I took off a point because as Rawrthaas said, it is pretty cluttered. Not TOO cluttered, but cluttered to the point that sound is starting to be distorted xP. Also, the strings that came in at 0:44 and 3:20 sounded like a replica of cornandbeans' "{The Traveller}" strings in the middle of it... I also have to disagree with Rawrthaas at another point though. He said that the way your synths abruptly came in was bad. Honestly, IMO i think that's what makes this song pretty unique. I SUPPOSE you could have done a fade in maybe once or thrice, but the song sounds awesome without fade ins anyways.

A bit of advice from me though, is take advantage of FL Studio's ability to change the quality of the song. Newground's MP3 limit is 8MB, and i see this song is only 5MB. Change the Kbps higher, (usually 224kbps is the max for my songs to fit on NG). The distortion in the background won't be as drastic then, i think. (I just tried one of my songs 95MB wav compared to 7MB mp3 on windows media player with customized settings and though the MP3 one completely sucked to the wav quality, it sounds much better than the standard 128kbps).
You should also spend more time refining your song though. Although pulling off a masterpiece like this in 4.5 hours is indeed awestriking, once you listen to it a couple times you can here parts every here and there you could refine to make the song WAY more jaw-dropping. I'm not the best and i'm not going to say i entirely suck, but im just saying, refining your songs WILL make them better no matter what. My first 8 songs i only played them over maybe 5 times when i completed them and then rendered them. The last two songs i've made i've spent hours refining, especially the drums. (like 30 minutes each day since dont get to go on comp much).

Well, not much else to say. Keep making songs like this, and you'll be in the higher section of the top artists on NG, not to mention the world!

Overall: 9/10. 5/5

Sorry for the long review xD

DJ-Babokon responds:

I like your review. Someone actually critiqued this song. I do know cornandbeans and love his music! Also, I will try to turn up the kbps for better quality. Thank you for your honest review and I am very happy you like this song. :D

Also I'll check out some of your songs.

Dang!

Nice job man! The piano (that was piano right>? i forgot because the awesome bass and lead just kicked in) at the start gave it kinda a solemn feel, and then the lead kicked in and all of a sudden, im saying "Wait WHAT?!" Then bam that sound effect comes in and then it owns everything xD

ParadoxInc responds:

Haha. Love the description. Thanks bro

Nice

the beginning sounds a lot like the song Drifen, although you probably have never heard it before.... but still the song is great with the beat and the main melody

F-777 responds:

Never heard it =). Thanks so much for the review dude!!!

uhmm,....

are you sure you looped it correctly?... i hear like 3 seconds of blankness, but other than that it would sound nice if you had made it complete.....

NightmareTheDragon responds:

No I didn't. It was gonna be a full song. Though I gave upon it. I messed up for it to loop. Though it repeats it self. Didn't bother to delete it either.......though I don't know how it got top score.........
